That certain Standard;

Have you ever seen an episode of Xtra, Entertainment Tonight or E! News? Well if you haven’t, Ill fill you in…These are shows where it’s all about celebrity news and gossip and what’s going on in their personal lives. Now I’m not saying I’m anywhere near or coming close to celebrity status, but what I am saying is that just because they are performers, actors and entertainers, the public eye views them as one of the highest class of people on this earth. And let’s face it; probably 98% of the general public will never live the lives they live, or even get a glimpse on how they live. That’s why people are so infatuated with the lives of celebrities; they can’t live a life like them so they keep up with what’s going on in their life. And these celebrities have to keep up with a certain standard, weather that be dressing a certain way, talking a certain way or living a certain way.

And the same rule applies to any entertainer; weather that be a singer, a dancer, a moviestar or pornstar, the general public will always hold these select few people to a certain standard. Weather that be a good thing or bad, that’s the way it has been and always will be. So that means for the people who are in the entertainment business, they also have to hold their selves to a certain standard because you never know who your gonna meet or what your gonna do. We, the people in the entertainment business, have to learn how to carry ourselves a certain way, act a certain way and live a certain way in order to make it in this business. I mean, think about it; for example, what words come to mind when you think of Beyonce?  Beautiful? Stunning? Gorgeous? These words come to mind because that’s how she carries herself. You wouldn’t see her coming out on stage dressed all ghetto-fabulous would you? No. Because she knows what the public wants and expects out of her. And the same idea carries over to the porn industry.

Myself, being in such a demanding industry, is starting to finally learn the tricks of the trade. Whenever I go out anywhere, I know that there is always a chance of someone recognizing me, and if that were to happen while I was not upholding myself to that certain standard, then the fan would lose interest quickly. Fans don’t look up to someone who is similar to themselves, they look up to a certain image and in most cases, try their best to imitate that image. For example, Hannah Montana. How many little girls out there do you think they try their best to do everything JUST like her? Millions upon millions. So for someone in this business to live their life like a hot mess, more than likely they would be scrutinized under the public eye.

But I wouldn’t trade this life for anything in the world. No matter how stressful this job may get at times, I know that it’s all gonna be worth it in the end. And if that requires me to push myself to get to that certain standard, well then by God you better believe that I’m gonna push like I’ve never been pushed before. Every day I strive to uphold this standard, weather I make it or not, I know at least I’m trying my best to live the life I’ve always dreamed of.

Extra, Extra!

Heyy everybodyy..whats going on? Well I’m still in Paris, France right now, and let me just say that I’m absolutely loving it here! This city has a life of its own, like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The people here are so open and friendly, the food is amazing and the nightlife is nothing short of krunkkkk. haha. But I just wanted to update and tell yall that my first press release just came out a few days ago!!! You can see the entire story on www.xbiz.com and www.gayvn.com. Its really cool know that your on a site that millions of people look at everyday. And for me, who just started in this industry to have already gotten this far…its amazing. People that I’ll never forget;

Over the period of the last two months, I have met guys from all over the United States. From high-class businessmen from downright crack heads, I’ve seen it all with this company. I’ve been living at the dorm since I’ve gotten here, and I’ve seen many of guys come through. Some stay just a few days, where as other tough it out and stay the entire month, or even longer. But the majority of the guys that come through here don’t even last a good two weeks…And that has me wondering. Why can’t any of these guys last? Well after a while of thinking, I think I’ve finally figured it out. A lot of people come down here for many different reasons; some people come down here for a vacation, some come down just to see what it is all about, some come down here and they think it’s a game and some people come down here to actually start and build a career in the Adult Film Industry.Now what was my reason for me coming here? Ever since I was younger, I’ve always wanted to be in the spotlight…I’ve always wanted to do something out of the ordinary and something crazy but I never really got a chance. I was just living the normal life..nothing special. Just working, and doing my thing. But one day, something inside of my head told me to apply at these different websites. And let me tell you, it was the best decision I had EVER made! A week and a half later I was on the first flight down to Miami…a new chapter in my life was about to begin; and I was ready.

Every week some guys come and some guys go. There is never the same people in the dorm at one time…The guys are always changing. When I came down here the firs time, I was only here for 5 days. And to be honest with you, I didn’t really “click” with any of those 5 guys that were staying there at the time. But my second time coming back down was a complete different story. From the moment I got here, I automatically clicked with Markell; a 23 year old from ATL. We were scheduled to go on the Orlando Trip together, and looking back on it now, I’m so glad we did! Me and Markell has gotten so close ever since then. He is like one of my new best friends, and 20 years from now, we are still gonna be kickin it, chillin and drinkin together. haha. He is my boy and always will be.

Then comes Miss London. He came down all the way from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania about a month ago. At first, we really didn’t say much to each other, but once we got to know each other, it was all gravy from there. Me, Markell and London formed a group called the “Hyennas” Mann, lemme tell you…you don’t fuck with us three. We will fuck some bitches up! haha. And both of them are big fans of the Bad Girls Club, So we each got names from the show. I’m Hannah, London is Tanesha, and Markell is Naveen. We had some pretty crazy times together and will continue to have more of them! I love yall bicthes!

I will never forget some of the people that has walked through this companies door’s. Like Kizzy bitch..Your so crazy and when you do go back home..Im gonna miss your crazy ass bitch! Miss JackPot- girl we have had some pretty fun times just posted up in your room. You’re a truly genuine person and I’m really gonna miss you when you leave! I was never really that close with any other dorm guys except this select few. But to everyone else, I thank yall for helping me realize who I really am. With everybody coming from different parts of the country, I see myself now as an individual with my own unique personality. Everybody who comes here brings a little bit of home and their own culture with them…and every single one of us are different. Some of us crash and collide and some of us bond…But no matter what, I’m gonna keep doing me and keep continuing to build myself and my career up. I’m Cody Kyler. And I’m not going anywhere.

2009: The year of change…

Let’s backtrack just four little months ago to January 1st, 2009. I was just doing my thing, living in Oklahoma City, trying to live my life the best way I knew how. I was working and partying on the weekends…something that any normal 18 year old would be doing. But now, jump ahead four months later, and I’m living in Miami, Florida, getting ready to go back to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil & Paris, France, I have my own website and I’m an exclusive model for FlavaWorks….WOWWW. It seems as if I’m living a complete different life now. For example, when you’re out on a Friday night, and someone comes up to you and asks..”Hey, aren’t you Cody Kyler? I just saw your video.” (That happened the weekend I was back in OKC right after my first video had came out on www.papicock.com) Or like when we were in Orlando, Florida at the Parliament House’s “Erotica” event…people were just flocked around our booth wanting all of us to take picture after picture with them and then everybody wanted an autograph, some people going as far as them wanting us to sign there titties and asses! It seems like I’m living the life of a movie star or something..or better yet…pornstar. haha =p

My life has done a complete one-hundred and eighty degrees. It went from just living the normal teenagers’ life to working in the Adult Film Industry in just a matter of two months. I first came down to Miami on February 27th..exactly two months and one day ago and I’ve already gone so far. I have my own website up and running, and hopefully by the end of the summer I’ll have my second one up and running also, if everything goes as planned. I’m in this for the long haul…I think I’ve finally found my niche…and I wouldn’t trade this job for anything in the world.

In coming months I can only imagine what’s going to be going on, where I’m gonna be at and what I’m gonna be doing. I’m still kinda new to all of this and the only thing I can do is take all in strides..I mean look at it this way…I went from just another guy trying to make it in this world, to actually traveling the world, going overseas and trying new things…and quite honestly, I probably couldn’t have done half the stuff I’ve already done back then..I mean, Thursday, April 30th, I’m going back to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for my SECOND time in the past 3 weeks. And then I have Paris coming up and going back to OKC, the to Miami again…and Ahh! It may seem like I’m just having fun and enjoying everything, but at times, this job can be veryyy stressful. Going here, going there, doing this, doing that…And on top of that, you never know who your gonna see or really what your gonna be doing..so you have to hold yourself to a standard and you have to keep that standard at all times. And if you let it get to you..then you will break. Its as simple as that.

But I’ve learned a very valuable life lesson throughout this whole crazy experience….NEVER GIVE UP! Just when you think you’ve hit rock bottom, all you gotta do it just look up and keep on going. Everything will always be ok in the end, and everything happens for a reason. Just keep all that in mind and there is no telling how far you can go.

What a week!

What a week this has been! From launching my new website and getting everything going, to me finding out that some douchebag had been inside my apt while I wasn’t there, this past week has been crazzzyyy. Starting off last Monday, the 20th, me and some of the guys from the dorm wanted to do a little shopping, we decided to go to Bayside Mall. Well we had the great idea of walking there, in which we thought the mall was only gonna be a short 15 minute there. But once we actually got going, its was pretty hot outside, and the mall didn’t seem just 15 minutes away.  In total, it took a good 30 minutes of walking in the hot Florida sun, but we finally got there. And whats cool about this mall is that its located right on the ocean, and that half of the stores are indoor and half outdoor. So we all start walking around, go in a few stores and pick up a few things…It was a pretty fun trip. Then later that night we had a show; it was game night and we were gonna play truth or dare. But luckily I didn’t have to do the show so I just sat and drank some wine while the game was played. haha.

Tuesday wasn’t as exciting as the day before. I was at the office most of the day…just going through all of my pictures that I had taken from previous days and trips and I was helping out in the shipping department. There were alot of orders that needed to be filled, so me and Fizzo stepped in and helped go the job done. Then later that night, me and Markell went over to the boss’ house to go swimming, drink some wine and to watch some  new episodes of 24 out by the pool. Pretty easy day.

Wednesday, the 22nd, was a very laid-back kinda day. Woke up kinda late, went to the office for a bit, got something to eat, and came back to the office and just chilled until it was time to go to Ikea. I live here in Miami, near downtown, and Ikea is all the way up in Ft. Lauderdale, a good 30 to 45 minute drive depending on traffic. Well, me and Lucas drove up to Ikea by ourselves, while Markell and Jackpot went to the airport to go pic up the new guy, Dragon. This was my first time going to Ikea, and let me tell you…it was shocked. it was like a wonderland of just cheap furniture with a foodcourt. haha.  We go up there and eat, and surprisingly, it was actually really good. We got done eating and the rest of the guys met us up there and we started furniture shopping for the dorm. We got a new bed, some lamps and some new pillows. It was a fun trip.

Thursday, the 23rd, me and Markell had to go down to South Beach so he could get his passport. Well, you can only get your passport between certain hours of the day, so we had to be there kinda early. So we arrive to the post office at like at 11:30 and turn in all the necessary paperwork needed for him to get his passport and then we were off. We got back to the dorm like an hour and a half later and then both me and Markell decided that we needed our haircuts, so we walked down to the barbershop, which is only like 3 blocks away and we both got our haircut. After that, it was back up to the office where it was day one on the start of my new blog. We came up for ideas for my blog, like what I could talk about and what I could do with my new website. We came up with 3 huge pages of just random stuff I could talk about, then it was off to Subway to get something to eat. lol. Later that night we went back to the boss’ house where we went swimming and drank some more wine once again.

Now we arrive at the weekend, its Friday, the 24th, and boy was I ready for it! I was at the office all day once again, and I was just getting everything ready for my website and helping out at the office. After I left the office, we were off to the dorm to get ready for the night. We were all gonna go out to South Beach and walk around, have a few drinks and just have a good time. It ended up just being me, Markell, London and Dragon going out. We walked around, went to the beach and got something to eat at a local diner….just enjoying the beach life. It turned out ot be a really fun night.

Saturday, the 25th…Now this is the day that I actually started on my website; getting all of my topics together, getting my pics ready and just setting everyhting up. At first, it was a little confusing, but I got the hang of it very quickly…its kinda like Myspace. So I started writing on my first blog, "Can I get a wow?!" It took me a good two days to finish writing…but I got it done on Sunday. Later on that night, me and the rest of the guys went to Ft. Lauderdale to go to Dave and Busters. We get over there around almost midnight and we order some drinks and then we start playing some games. I didnt win big or anything, but I still had fun. lol.

Sunday, the 26th…Yesterday was a very busy day also. I got up and came straight to the office. I was at the office a good 4 or 5 hours just working on my website and setting everything up. It took me a while to put up the Orlando pics, but they are now up…FINALLY! lol. (Look at the post below thiss) After I had finally gotten all that stuff up, me, Dragon and Lucas went over to his house once again to go swimming and drink some more wine. But before that, we had to help move some boxes out of the garage and into the office. After doing some back breaking labor for a good hour and half, we stopped by Publix, got some food and more wine, and we were finally off to go swimming. We get there, get in the pool, eat some chicken and drink some wine and we watched the ne XMen move and a new episode of South Park. After about four glasses of that wine…I was feeling pretty good. haha.

And now it leads us to today…Monday the 27th. I woke up today around 11:30, got ready and me and Markell came up to the office around 1:30. And that’s when I got the news..I had gotten a phone call from a family member back home saying that someone had somehow gotten into my apt without me being there. I was shocked. So for the next hour after that, I was on the phone with the apts, family members and friends just to see what the hell was going on. I was pisssedddd!  But after an intense hour of being on the phone, I finally got things straightend out and now I have a grasp on what going on back home…Thank God! And that leads me to what Im doing now, updating you on what has been going on in my life the past week. Now, everyday Ill update yall on whats been going on and what Im going to be doing! :)

Orlando Parliament House Erotica Weekend

On Saturday, March 21st, 2009, The Parliament House, located in Orlando, Florida, held a promotional event that the company I work for attended. Myself, along with other adult film actors Rock, Markell and DeAngelo Jackson represented FlavaWorks and Rockafellaz Entertainment. We all drove up from Miami to Orlando to attend this event. We were there for that entire weekend and we stayed right at the Parliment House for the weekend. I had the time of my life, seeing as how this was my first promo event I had ever atteneded. Day one of my first blog: “Can I get a Wow?!”

Never in a million years did I ever think I would be where I am today. I was born and raised in a small town named Hobbs, New Mexico. I was quiet and shy growing up; I mainly kept to myself with the exception of getting pretty crazy with my friends from time to time. I used to run varsity cross country at one point and play the trumpet in band, which quite frankly, I sucked at. haha. I was very open about me being gay. They gay community in my old town wasn’t very big, and the people who were gay there were always so dramatic. So I just stayed with my little group of friends and did our own thing. I also worked at the local Quiznos for almost a year and a half; i loved working there. Even on my days off, me and my best friend would be up there just kickin it with our other friends. haha. I lived there right up until last summer, where on June 16th, 2008, I made my first major life change; I moved to the big city of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

I used the move to my advantage; this was my chance at a new start of life for me. I was in a new town, I had clean slate, and this was gonna be my new life. I was gonna make sure that I was gonna use this opportunity wisely; to become the person I had always wanted to be. Coming to this town was like nothing I had ever experienced; there were so many gay people there and it seemed like there was always something to do. And the best thing they had there; the underage gay club. On any given weekend, you would see most of the teenage gay community just partying there. I thought this place was the shit. I quickly got a job at the nearest Quiznos, and I was on my way to starting my new life as an Oklahoman. The summer went by pretty fast. I was meeting new people, trying new things and just living my life overall. By the end of the summer, I had met some people that were my new clique. We were all hanging out 24/7 and on any given day, you would have probably seen us together. These were my new best friends, and in turn, my new life. Im not gonna lie, we had some pretty good times that I will always remember for the rest of my life, but after a while, things took a turn for the worst. Our group had slowly began to break up, and we all stared going our own ways. I moved out of my house and got my first apt with my first roommate around mid-october. By then, I had already switched jobs, and I was working as an electronic salesman at Sears. The first few months were okay. Just working and hanging out with my two best friends. But by the time last Christmas rolled around, thats when things stared to change again; my life was changing once again. Friendships were broken and made and I had made some decisions that I most definitely wish I could go back and change.

By this time it was late January and I had already moved into my second apt. I was still at Sears and I was just living life; partying on the weekends and just kickin it with my two best friends. But by the end of January, one of my best friends moved away…which absolutely devastated me. But i still pushed on; determined to remain strong. February was an indifferent month; kind of a weird month. But that’s the month that changed my life, FOREVER. After my best friend had moved to Oklahoma City with me, it was her and my other best friend and we were just sitting at my apt one Saturday night and we were talking about doing porn and how cool it would be to get into something like that. Well I had remembered seeing something about a “be a model” link on this one gay porn website, and me being the only one who was 18 at the time, I applied at every single gay porn site I could find on the internet. The following Monday my email and my phone had seriously gotten blown up from different companies from all over the United States. And one of the first companies to contact me was FlavaWorks, based out of Miami, Florida.

The company had contacted me and asked me if I wanted to come down the following Thursday and try everything out. Immediately I had agreed, and the next Thursday I was on the first plane down to Miami, Florida. I had a layover flight at Houston Int’l Airport and at 9:15pm on Thursday, February 26th, 2009, I started yet another new chapter in my life, Cody McCart: Adult Film Actor.

I was only there for a mere five days. And in those five days, I did two shoots and one show.  The first shoot I did was a solo video and photoshoot. And let me tell you, I WAS TERRIFIED! This was my first time doing anything like this and I had no clue what I was supposed to do. But thankfully I got through it and I got the job done. I remember telling myself, “That was actually pretty fun!” Then the next day, I had my first one on one shoot. This was it; my first actual porn video. I remember walking in there and telling myself, “This is it. Your time to shine.” haha. I was the bottom for this cute cuban boy and we went at it. At first I was nervous as hell. But further and further into the video, I became more comfortable; not only with myself but in front of the camera. It was at that time I knew where my calling was. I wanted to be a porn star.

After the five days passed, I was on my way back to Oklahoma City to return to my normal life; well, at least for a while. I was only gonna be back home for a short two weeks and then I was back on the go. Two days before I was due back in Miami to shoot wit FlavaWorks, I was up in Chicago shooting with Citiboyz. I did two shoots up there; a three-some video and a solo; which both of them turned out quite well I might add. I flew back to OKC on the night of the 19th and on the 20th of March, I was to fly back to Miami.

I got into Miami the night of the 20th and the next day, March 21st, I was on my way to Orlando, Florida, for Erotica; a small gay porn convention/party. That night of the party was insane. Different people kept coming up to our booth and kept asking for autographs and asked to take pictures with us and all kinds of stuff. It was like nothing I had ever experienced; I felt like a movie star or something. After that, we came back to Miami, where I had done a few more shoots and shows. In my off time, I was either at the office or just kickin it back at the dorm. They were pretty fun times. But then came the trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
